Happy Holidays!

2010 was a wonderful year, and here at Sweetchic, we have high hopes for 2011!

This Friday (aka Christmas Eve day), the husband and I head on our annual winter vacation with my family. This year we are taking a tour of Athens, Greece! Except we’re supposed to fly into London, which has been getting loads of crazy winter weather, and thus Heathrow Airport is experiencing major airport and flight issues which are expected to last throughout the week. Yikes! Not to mention political unrest and riots in Athens… Wish us luck! But I’m sure it will be quite an adventure, and I plan to have many pictures to share with you next year!

Dear Sweetchic blog readers, thank you so much for following our story! Here’s wishing you a wonderful Christmas and fabulous New Year!

Friday Faves: Blogs We Loved This Week

Oops, it’s been a few weeks since my last Friday Faves feature! Blame it on the holidays…

1. Super exciting news, on Tuesday, my gal Hollie made her grand debut on Weddingbee as MISS JAM!

2. There was a great post about theme weddings on Manolo for the Brides … but mostly I thought this was one of the best wedding party pics, ever! The husband agrees :)

3. Photographer Steve Koo showed us a few of the adorable doggie pics he took for the Churchill Dog Park calendar, and I just wanted to reach into my laptop and *HUG* this gorgeous sheltie (at least I think it’s a sheltie?) He (she?) is melt-my-heart cuuute!

4. These paper snowflakes by How About Orange remind me of being a kid…

5. How cool is this ultra-tiny home in Tokyo, the size of a regular one car parking spot…

Stay warm!

2011 Pantone Color of the Year

Hold the phones, the new 2011 Pantone color has been announced, and it is Honeysuckle! Aka, a gorgeous shade of vibrant reddish-pink… and if you’ve been to my website or blog (as I’m sure many of you have, since you’re reading this after all!), you know I love me some pink!

Strangely enough, I’ve had very few brides with vibrant pink color schemes over the past 3 years! So I’m glad it’s going to make a comeback… but please, NO more blush pink and brown!

For those of you unfamiliar with the term Pantone, “The Pantone Color Matching System is largely a standardized color reproduction system. By standardizing the colors, different manufacturers in different locations can all refer to the Pantone system to make sure colors match without direct contact with one another.” (via Wikipedia)

Here are the colors from recent years:

Are you having any pink in your color scheme, whether as a primary color or an accent color?
