Hitched: James & Leslie’s Rookery Wedding – Part 1

Happy Friday!! It’s a beautiful fall day in Chicago! Today I’m sharing part 1 of James and Leslie’s beautiful Rookery wedding. Anyone who knows anything about me and Sweetchic Events knows that I L.O.V.E. The Rookery Building, and that is my favorite venue in Chicago!

Leslie and James planned their wedding from out of state, and contacted me in January to help with their June 3rd wedding… not much time, but enough for us to pull together the soft, romantic wedding of their dreams! Despite the short time frame, they managed to snag photographer extraordinaire, Kenny Kim, who kindly sent me these beautiful images to share!

Leslie and her bridesmaids all wore Reem Acra gowns and were stunning!!

Soft, romantic, vintage-inspired bouquet by Fleur! I always envy spring brides because they can have peonies in their bouquets!

I think I love the classic black bow-tie look even more than white bow-tie!

Their First Look at the Intercontinental O’Hare.

The courtyard/gardens directly south of the Art Institute of Chicago is a gorgeous backdrop!

Hitched: Shianne & Jim’s Chicago History Museum Wedding – Part 2

Part 1 of Shianne & Jim’s Wedding.

After their Greek Orthodox ceremony, guests headed to the Chicago History Museum for the reception!

They held their traditional Korean Paebaek Ceremony outside on the Plaza (it was a HOT day!!) for all of their guests to witness. I love the colors and beautiful details of this ceremony!

Their favors, small packets of Jordan almonds, doubled as their escort cards.

I adored the combo of the pale grey linens (which complimented the existing pale grey accents on the wall!) with the pink florals in vintage milk glass!

Traditional Korean Ducks that symbolize Peace, Many Children, and No Separation… because Ducks mate for life!

Gorgeous cake by Bittersweet Pastry, topped off with the cutest Lego couple!!

Perfect shot…

Shianne changed into an awesome short party dress and comfortable shoes so she could truly enjoy the night!

Hitched: Shianne & Jim’s Chicago History Museum Wedding – Part 1

It’s hard to believe that it’s already been three months since Shianne & Jim’s wedding! They were planning their wedding from afar (LA!) and I was thrilled when they booked Sweetchic Events to guide them through their last few months of planning. They were so sweet and thoughtful and we got along so well… I just wish they lived in Chicago so we could together after the wedding!

I loved that they combined their Greek and Korean heritages together with the Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony and then the traditional Korean Paebaek ceremony during cocktail hour (photos to come). All the beautiful photos are courtesy of Tim Tab Studios.

I love, love, love the trend of small bridal parties… just a Maid of Honor and Best Man. Sometimes that’s all you need!

A sweet, delicate and vintage-inspired bouquet by our friends at Vale of Enna.

Shianne personally created a gorgeous suite of paper products for her wedding!
