Welcome to the Sweetchic & Hinojosa Loft!

I don’t think I ever officially announced it on the Blog, but I moved into a loft office space in Pilsen last January – yes, a whole year ago – with my friend and photographer, Veronica of Hinojosa Photography. And after a year, we decided it was finally time to do a little photoshoot of our lovely digs.

When we initially designed the space, we wanted to keep everything very white and neutral with hints of grey, some seafoam/mint accents and pops of pink. I think we’ve achieved a very soft and feminine space. We are so happy here, surrounded by pretty things and lots of natural light, and we’ve signed on for another year’s lease… so come visit! Where exactly is Pilsen? Just about 10 minutes south of the Chicago Loop, by UIC!

And of course, all of the beautiful eye-candy below are by Hinojosa Photography… take a peek!

Our work stations…

I typically like to hold my meetings at this table.

Occasionally I’ll take a mini TV break…

Behind the little screen, we have a kitchenette complete with sink, microwave, fridge – and most importantly – Keurig coffee maker! Visiting clients always ask if I live here, because it’s so homey!

So cozy.. what do you think??

Hitched: Maya & Sid’s Botanic Garden Wedding – Part 2

I hope you caught Part 1 of Maya & Sid’s wedding at the Chicago Botanic Gardens! And now it’s on to their actual ceremony in the serene English Walled Garden and reception in McGinley Pavilion!

Maya’s family welcomed Sid’s family to the ceremony at the gates of the English Walled Garden.

Beautiful floral and mandap details by Exquisite Designs!

Their ceremony was full of beautiful Hindu traditions…

After the ceremony and cocktail hour, guests moved to McGinley Pavilion, which was decked in gorgeous, vibrant colors! I am absolutely obsessed with this moss elephant that Alex of Exquisite Designs created, and which we elevated on an acrylic pedestal. This graced the escort card table at the entrance to the reception.

We created and printed menus that wrapped around each napkin… loved this simple detail!

Love this trio centerpiece with vibrant shades of red roses, magenta spray roses and celosia, purple stock and orange spray roses in the mercury glass containers. There’s even a tiny silver elephant on the table (Maya loves elephants!)

Some of Maya’s relatives gave a surprise performance!

Love this stunning night time shot of the lake!

Hitched: Maya & Sid’s Botanic Garden Wedding – Part 1

Happy Belated New Year! We’ve been laying low for the past few weeks, but are ready to dive back into our blog! We have a few more 2012 weddings to share…

First up, the beautiful June wedding of Maya and Sid at the Chicago Botanic Gardens. We’ve been keeping it under wraps because their wedding was just featured in the special issue of Weddings by Design by the prestigious Design Bureau magazine! (Sorry for the bad cell phone pic!)

Maya and I started her planning journey via Skype… she was thousands of miles away in India and finally arrived home in Chicago a mere three months before her wedding. Unlike the traditional Indian wedding, they wanted something a bit more intimate with just 175 guests (small, by Indian standards!), surrounded by nature, and nothing too excessive. Thank you Leo of Fragola Productions for these gorgeous images!

I absolutely love Indian weddings for their vibrant colors and amazing attire! Maya’s whole family looks amazing!

Guests were greeted into the English Garden with fresh mango lassis and watermelon juice… so yummy!

Stay tuned for their beautiful ceremony and reception!
