Lauren & Jimmy’s Chicago History Museum Wedding – Part 2

Part 1 of Lauren & Jimmy’s wedding…

When Lauren and Jimmy mentioned they wanted to hire an Abe Lincoln impersonator to walk around and greet guests during cocktail hour, I couldn’t believe how perfect and fitting that was, considering their wedding was at the Chicago History Museum!! And when I met Honest Abe (aka Max Daniels), I was blown away… and guests definitely got a kick out of this! Photos by Steve Koo Photography.

The Chicago Room was the perfect space… EP2 brought in giant ferns to break up the long room and create a sense of height and visual interest. We kept the centerpieces simple with pops of orange, but mostly white and green flowers and ferns.

Abe Lincoln introduced Lauren and Jimmy into their reception to the tune of Battle Hym of the Republic. Priceless!!

Lauren is also a Jazzercize instructor, so the reception had to include an interactive Jazzercize number!!

Lauren & Jimmy’s Chicago History Museum Wedding – Part 1

Happy Friday! What do you think of our new Sweetchic website and blog layout so far?!

Lauren & Jimmy were so much fun to work with on their wedding last September! They chose the Chicago History Museum, which was the perfect venue to create their vision of a “vintage, historic-inspired and fun” wedding. Jimmy is a comedian by trade, so the “fun” aspect was a necessity! I loved that we brought it tons of unique elements to their day… multiple song performances during their ceremony, including a trio by Lauren, Jimmy and their Officiant… an Abe Lincoln impersonator, an ice cream cart, a JAZZERCIZE routine… need I say more?! I’ll let the gorgeous photos by Steve Koo Photography do the rest of the talking!

I love that Lauren chose orange as the primary color… such a happy, under-appreciated color!!

Do you recognize the tall Groomsman below? He is comedian, Dave Koechner, of Anchorman fame!

Let me just interject to say that this was one of my absolute favorite moments of the day… towards the end of their wedding ceremony, Lauren, Jimmy and their Officiant broke into song, an original, humorous song called Take my Advice (which I believe was written by their Officiant!). Completely awesome!
