Your wedding is one of the most important and meaningful days in your life. We make sure it’s also the happiest.
Sweetchic Events™ is a boutique wedding planning firm based in Chicago. We creatively orchestrate your wedding details to bring out your personal style and vision for your special day. At Sweetchic, our specialty is creating weddings that incorporate your personal history, culture, and meaningful traditions. We believe that weddings should celebrate both of your individual backgrounds in addition to your new status as a “unit.”
When you work with Sweetchic, you can rest-easy knowing that your wedding is in good hands. We take care of everything from event design to budget guidance, vendor coordination to etiquette advice.
Our pride? Giving you your time back. By working with Sweetchic Events, you won’t spend a second stressing that everything goes as planned. Instead, you’ll savor what’s important: the fleeting months of your engagement, every moment of your wedding, and the bright future on your horizon.

At Sweetchic, we understand that STDs are a good thing.
Because the only chargers your fiancé knows attach to his cell phone.
We help keep the “party” in “bridal party.”
We’ll make your rehearsal run more smoothly than a George Clooney casino heist.
When it comes to troubleshooting, we’re locked, loaded, and ready to fire.
Ivory and cream aren’t even in the same family. We get that.
We hold advanced degrees in aisle runner placement.
Your bustle, our hustle. It’s a match made in heaven!
“Details” is our middle name. (Yeah, we were teased a lot as kids.)
Spreadsheets make us hot.
Meet your lead planner, Charlene Liang:
In high school Charlene was that girl who secretly read wedding magazines in the corner of the library. Fortunately, it worked to her advantage.
As the owner and lead planner at Sweetchic Events, Charlene knows that a wedding isn’t about her vision, it’s about yours. She brings your dream to life with finesse and passion, carefully balancing logistical details with creativity and warmth. Charlene started Sweetchic Events in 2008 to fulfill her long time love-affair with weddings.
Charlene graduated with an M.B.A. in marketing and management from Loyola University Chicago and a B.S. from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. She is also a Professional Bridal Consultant™ with the Association of Bridal Consultants. For many years, Charlene worked in the hospitality industry, honing her organizational and customer service skills. Her business savvy combined with her eye for detail and love of all things pretty truly sets her apart when it comes to planning a wedding for today’s busy professional couple.
Charlene is also proud to serve on the Board of the Chicago Chapter of Wish Upon a Wedding, the world’s first non-profit wish granting organization, providing weddings for couples facing terminal illness and serious life-altering circumstances.
Hollie Smith, Associate Coordinator
When it comes to weddings, Hollie loves them all. Whether it’s a rustic, modern, funky, traditional, grandiose or intimate affair, she can take a little inkling and turn it into a shindig. Hollie joined the Sweetchic team in 2010 and has lived and breathed beautiful weddings ever since.
Hollie stays on top of industry trends by completely immersing herself in all things wedding: when she’s not keeping up with bridal blogs and publications, she’s attending as many bridal events as possible to meet local vendors and enjoy the Chicago wedding scene. You can also find Hollie on Weddingbee as Miss Jam!
Jessica Schultz, Associate CoordinatorWhen it comes to weddings, Jessica loves everything about them! From the love story behind each couple, the unique touches each bride brings to her special day, to the celebratory kiss; Jessica loves it all! Jessica’s bubbly personality, creative eye and attention to detail, makes her the planner she is.
With a strong background in nonprofit work, Jessica brought her fundraising, development and event planning talents to the Sweetchic team in 2010. Her big heart and passion for event planning also shines through her volunteer work on the various boards she serves. While Jessica is not out networking or volunteering, she gets her creative D.I.Y. ideas and day-of inspirations from blogs, Pinterest, and her favorite wedding magazines.
Lindsey Tom, Associate CoordinatorThere is a point in every girl's life, where weddings become the all-encompassing, holy grail of fascinations. For Lindsey, that point struck hard and true at a ripe young age of ten. What began as a fascination with pretty dresses and fantastic shoes, grew over time; it transformed into full and deep-seeded appreciation for the value and sentiment behind weddings.
Lindsey graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design from Otis College of Art & Design in Los Angeles, CA. She moved to Chicago because the weather in L.A. was far too sunny and nice--and she's so glad that she did! Her background in design trained her eye for color and space, which is a major asset when honing in on an overall look and design of an event.
