Elizabeth & David’s Ivy Room Wedding – Part 2

Here is Part 1 of Elizabeth & David’s beautiful wedding at The Ivy Room!

Limelight Catering created a seriously scrumptious menu including seared tuna on lotus root chips, and truffled mac & cheese in a parmesan cone…

The Flower Firm created dramatic decor with dramatic arrangements in autumnal colors of eggplant, burgundy, greens and grey.

The gorgeous ivory wedding cake by Amy Beck Cake Design mimicked some accents on Elizabeth’s dress.

I loved the leafy gobo lighting treatment covering the walls! We also created a dramatic feasting table for the Bridal Party.

The grey succulents were absolutely perfect!

I loved Elizabeth’s bouquet with garden roses, succulents and brunia berries… it was gorgeous!

We put together a yummy candy table that their guests loved!

Elizabeth & David’s Ivy Room Wedding – Part 1

When I met Elizabeth and David in January 2012, we hit it off right away and I was thrilled when they asked me to help plan their November 2012 wedding at The Ivy Room (literally the day before I left for a 10-day trip to Taiwan!). Elizabeth was incredibly sweet and a dream to work with. She had impeccable taste and knew what she wanted so she didn’t waver in her decisions… which made it so easy on her wedding planner :) We put together a dream team of vendors which included photography by Averyhouse, decor and floral by The Flower Firm, and Limelight Catering just to name a few.

Classic and simple invitations by Vera Wang Collection.

Their first look was at Park Hyatt Chicago, where they got ready.

Elizabeth literally *gasped* when she saw her gorgeous bouquet by The Flower Firm!

They wanted very “urban” and “gritty” photos… and this is about as urban as it gets!

Elizabeth looked like perfection in Vera Wang, and David had a completely bespoke tuxedo custom made by Frederick Lynn.

A photo fitting of The Ivy Room!

A dramatic submerged escort card arrangement in jewel tones of deep reds, purples and greens.

The Flower Firm custom-built this seven layer chuppah especially for Elizabeth and David. (It took hours to put up… and then just minutes to tear down!)

Stay tuned for Part 2 next week!

Lauren & Jimmy’s Chicago History Museum Wedding – Part 2

Part 1 of Lauren & Jimmy’s wedding…

When Lauren and Jimmy mentioned they wanted to hire an Abe Lincoln impersonator to walk around and greet guests during cocktail hour, I couldn’t believe how perfect and fitting that was, considering their wedding was at the Chicago History Museum!! And when I met Honest Abe (aka Max Daniels), I was blown away… and guests definitely got a kick out of this! Photos by Steve Koo Photography.

The Chicago Room was the perfect space… EP2 brought in giant ferns to break up the long room and create a sense of height and visual interest. We kept the centerpieces simple with pops of orange, but mostly white and green flowers and ferns.

Abe Lincoln introduced Lauren and Jimmy into their reception to the tune of Battle Hym of the Republic. Priceless!!

Lauren is also a Jazzercize instructor, so the reception had to include an interactive Jazzercize number!!
