Ellen & Ric's Lacuna Lofts Wedding

We absolutely love when siblings of past Sweetchic couples reach out to us with the happy news of their engagement! So we were thrilled to hear from Ellen and Ric about planning their fall wedding. We had sent Ellen's sister, Julie, down the aisle back in 2013, and their family is just the best! Ellen and Ric envisioned a laid-back, warm, rustic, and easy wedding. They chose the unique Reverie Gallery in the Lacuna Lofts, a cool raw space gallery in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago with fun murals, neon billboards and unique architectural relics.  Thanks Misha Media for sharing these lovely photos from their big day!

Ellen chose to get ready in a fabulous suite at the W Hotel Lakeshore. Her stunning wedding gown was by designer Theia Couture (style Daria), a Mermaid style stretch crepe gown with cowl back. Not just anyone can pull off this fitted, minimal look, but it fit Ellen to a T! Sara Jean from Nika Vaughan Bridal Artists created the perfect look, with natural makeup and loose wavy hair pulled to one side by a classic brooch.

Ellen's gorgeous bridal bouquet by Zenia at Flor del Monte literally took my breath away! It was romantic, loose, and textured, with blush anemones, cafe au lait dahlias, ranunculous, garden roses and scabiosa... and just the perfect amount of greenery woven throughout to complete the look.

Ric's boutonniere was a white anemone with a black center, and some simple greenery.

Even though their wedding was in early November, you'd never believe the wonderful weather they had! Sunny and warm, which called for a photo session at the Chicago lakefront, and also Cermak Bridge in Bridgeport.

One of the coolest features of their wedding venue, Lacuna Lofts, is the wonderful murals and artwork by local Chicago artists.

Reverie Gallery has this unique art installation which serves as a perfect ceremony arch, and natural backdrop for the wedding ceremony. Flor del Monte accented the arch with greenery and white floral, and Elegant Event Lighting strung cafe globe lights that created a warm look. Tons of lanterns and candlelight created a gorgeous aisle for Ellen.

At the end of the night, Ellen's dad, said the sweetest thing to me... "I'm sorry I don't have anymore daughters for you!" So many hugs to this wonderful family! Thank you, Ellen and Ric, for letting us be a part of your celebration!
