I’m so excited to share with you the wedding of Bertha and Nick, one of my absolute favorite weddings of the year! Bertha is a long time friend of my husband, so I had a dual role as wedding planner… and guest!
What I loved about working with Bertha and Nick was how laid back they were about the whole planning process. They knew they wanted a beautiful wedding, but they didn’t sweat the small stuff. Instead they trusted my guidance as well as the efforts of their fabulous team of vendors, and just went with the flow… This alleviated a lot of the stress that typically accompanies planning a wedding.

One of my favorite things ever is when a bride is escorted down the aisle by BOTH her parents!
Bertha’s expression is so sweet here…
One of Chicago’s most popular wedding photo spots: Kinzie Street Bridge
Amazing floral work by Scarlet Petal. I wish you could have seen these bridesmaids bouquets in person… the colors and the textures were beyond description! With kale, succulents and berries accenting the roses and freesia, this is probably my favorite bridesmaid bouquet of all time!
Did you know that this purple flower on the left, aka flowering kale, is actually a vegetable?!

Bertha and Nick love champagne, so we decided to create a champagne bar for cocktail hour, with five different varieties of yummy champagne cocktails.
Bertha is Mexican, so her father booked this fabulous Mariachi band, which definitely added a latin flavor to cocktail hour!
The Pavillion at Galleria Marchetti… click here to see a picture of the tent without lighting. Beautiful on it’s own; but we decided to add some drama with lighting and patterned gobos. Art of Imagination did an amazing job!
The dramatic feasting table aka head table accented by iron lanterns and bouquets…
Stunning cake with purple and orange sugar flowers by Amy Beck Cake Design and the cutest little cake topper!
Not only did they have a mariachi band… they also had a marimba band during dinner! They were amazing!
End of the night with Nick, Bertha, and my hubby…
My favorite client picture ever! I <3 you guys!

Everything is so gorgeous. Love the cake. It’s traditional in Jewish weddings for both the bride and the groom to be escorted by both their parents. I think it’s a wonderful tradition, even more so when it’s just the bride who is escorted by her parents.
