Chin & Stephen’s wedding day, Part 1 & Part 2
Finally, it was time for the ceremony! This park is located directly next to Cafe Brauer, and a lovely spot for an outdoor ceremony. Clearly, the day was gorgeous!
Stephen’s nephews joined the professional musicians for Chin’s processional, such a sweet, meaningful touch!
My absolute favorite Processional is when the Bride is escorted by BOTH of her parents!!
Drooling over all of the gorgeous bridesmaids dress styles!

Chin surprised Stephen with this beautiful photo tree. She mounted numerous photos of family and friends on cardstock and we hung them along with adorable butterfly and bird accents on the dramatic manzanita arrangement provided by Scarlet Petal.

If you missed Part 1 of Chin & Stephen’s wedding day and all of the fun Chinese Traditions, then be sure to check it out! Now prepare yourself for some more stunning imagery by Yazy Jo Photography!
After the Chinese Tea Ceremony, it was time to get ready for the rest of the wedding day…
I can’t even tell you how much I love the amazing ruffles on Chin’s train! And the Sofitel Chicago provided the most dramatic back-drop for their First Look.

Aren’t they adorable?!
They spent some time sans bridal party to take some beautiful portraits in the courtyard of the Fourth Presbyterian Church.

I LOVE it when couples opt for a classic car!!
And then it was off to Lincoln Park for some pictures with the rest of the Bridal Party.
Lush, gorgeous bouquets in shades of purple and blue by Scarlet Petal, with hydrangea, lisianthus, orchids, freesia, muscari, delphinium and peonies.

Stay tuned for the ceremony and reception at Café Brauer, one of my favorite Chicago venues!
{Stay tuned! Over the next few weeks, Hollie will be featuring some of Chicago’s very own local wedding designers! If you missed last week’s post about designer Elise Bergman, check it out!}
One of my favorite local bridal shows is Indie Wed, which I go to every year with my equally wedding-obsessed mother. Within the first 10 minutes of Indie Wed’s inaugural show last year, my mom nearly dislocated my arm thanks to a display by a local fashion designer.
“Oh my God, look at that dress,” my mom said, stopping dead in her tracks to stare at a booth filled with colorful frocks. “I would wear one of those dresses at your wedding. I LOVE THEM.”
And that was my introduction to the ever-so-stylish and colorful dresses of Audey, which I, too, became obsessed with.
As soon as we walked into the booth at Indie Wed, we were informed that they can customize anything. Do you like a dress but wish it had XYZ? Do you have some crazy idea in your head that you need someone to make into reality? Audey can do it…and with style.
Meet Jess Audey, the incredibly sweet designer behind Audey, and she has a ton of design experience nestled in the perfectly-placed pockets of dresses she fabulously creates:
Audey dresses are a combination of whimsical, classic, indie and flirty, and they would be undeniably perfect for ultra-hip bridal parties of all shapes and sizes. You know that mismatched-but-cohesive bridal party look that’s so hot right now? Bingo! Audey would be a top-notch choice for your gals, especially since I presume they would have a deliciously difficult time deciding on just one dress style for your big day. And you know what? I can’t say that I blame them.

Perhaps one of the most endearing qualities is that these dresses look just as fabulous from the back as they do from the front, and wedding guests are sure to gasp with fashion-induced pleasure whenever the bridal party’s backs are facing them. And really, are we loving the colorful petticoats peeking out from under dresses or what?! And, of course, there are pockets aplenty, which is always necessary for that stray lipstick, camera or wedding band.
And did I mention that Jess Audey donates to local charities on a regular basis? With bridesmaids dresses right around the $240 mark, your ‘maids can rest easy and look pretty knowing that their dress purchases are bettering Chicago. Just one more thing to love!
Visit Jess Audey’s website, blog and Twitter for more details—and more beautiful, local bridal inspiration.
P.S. OMG, I am seriously lusting over these dresses!! The prints! The flounce! That red print dress with the ruffled straps! ~ Charlene
Last November, I was on the hunt for a new Assistant Wedding Coordinator for Sweetchic’s 2011 wedding season. Jessica made contact with me via Twitter! Coincidentally, I also met Hollie, our Associate Wedding Coordinator via Twitter… what are the chances?! I’m so happy to have welcomed Jessica to the Sweetchic team. And here’s what she has to say:
Since I can remember, I have dreamed of being a wedding and event planner. In 8th grade I chose to job shadow a hotel event coordinator because that is “what I wanted to be when I grew up”. I was so interested in seeing every aspect of an event: from the event logistics to the fabulousness of the décor!
The other aspect I love about events is creating the “buzz” and hype around the event… the publicity, the advertising, the PR, etc. As a communications and PR major in college, I interned at a PR agency in NYC in consumer publishing. My team’s largest account was with Martha Stewart, and I had the amazing opportunity to help prepare press kits, media kits, write email blasts, and update media coverage calendars. It was a great experience and taught me how to create buzz-worthy news and introduced me to the importance of social media.
Public relations and event coordinating are two of my passions, and as a Wedding Coordinator, I am lucky to have the chance to do both. Having been a secret “fan” of Sweetchic’s blog I could not wait to apply for the Associate Wedding Coordinator position and am so excited to have the opportunity to work with a woman who inspires me through her work. I know I am going to learn so much from Charlene all the while helping a bride’s wedding day dreams come true.
