Valerie & Jon's Ivy Room Wedding - Part 2

Now where were we? Back to Val and Jon's wedding ceremony and reception at the Ivy Room! (In case you missed Part 1)  They held their ceremony in the ivy covered courtyard of the Ivy Room (the venue name is perfectly fitting, no?). Many of our Chicago brides and grooms covet outdoor space for their wedding, and this is one of the most lovely settings, a private gem tucked away in the heart of downtown Chicago.

Loving the ceremony floral by Flor del Monte, a simple garland of lush greenery with accents of purple and lavender floral that draped simply across the railing banisters! (This garland was later repurposed and swagged across the Sweetheart table and bars!)

While guests mixed and mingled in the courtyard for cocktail hour, the ballroom was set for dinner. A mix of round and rectangular farm tables filled the space. Lush floral arrangements in shades of whites, purples, lavenders, and trailing greenery surrounded by mercury glass votives by Flor del Monte enhanced each guest table. Rustic cafe lights with Edison bulbs were draped casually over the dance floor by Elegant Event Lighting. Amber uplights created a warm candlelit glow around the room, and pin spots highlighted each centerpiece. One of the many wonderful features of the Ivy Room is that they include the uplighting and pin spotting with their venue (a HUGE value for couples!). I love that all of the design choices they made embodied the descriptors that they initial gave me: rustic yet modern, chic, elegant, with a focus on food and drink and guest comfort!

No traditional sit down dinner at this wedding! Instead, guests were treated to an amazing assortment of stations catered by in-house caterer, Lettuce Parties ... from a Greens & Grains station, a Taqueria (Street style tacos! Empanadas! Paella!!), to a Southern Comfort station (Fried chicken! Ribs! Pulled pork! Mac n cheese!). No guest left hungry.

Thank you, Val and Jon, for letting us be a part of your wedding day!
