Wedding Day Vision

If you are engaged and making your way through the maze called wedding planning, hopefully you’re starting to figure out your wedding day vision and style. But what exactly does that mean and how do you figure it out?! Well, lucky for you there is a wealth of knowledge and inspiration out there on the internet that didn’t exist 10 years ago! (And check out the links in my link section for more fab sites –>)

First, make a list of adjectives that describe your personal aesthetic – what style does your taste typically veer towards on a regular basis? (Something to think about: where do you like to shop? Are you more J Crew, Banana Republic… or Anthropologie… or a bit more Ann Taylor? Or maybe Neiman Marcus!) Second, how do you want guests to feel as they walk into your wedding? Third, what mood do you want to set?

Intimate, grand, contemporary, whimsical, vintage, casual, luxurious, romantic, chic, rustic, edgy, bold, vibrant, classic, feminine, tropical, organic… the list goes on and on! But how do you translate a word, or multiple wordS, into a wedding look and feel? Here are some examples of how a wedding can evoke an adjective:

Soooo, what’s your flavah? What mood are you trying to evoke for your wedding day (or did you evoke if your wedding is past tense!)

  3. [...] 3. What is your style? Do you lean towards vintage and romantic styles? Then maybe that ultra-modern loft space may not be your best bet. Or on the flip side, if your style is sleek and clean, then maybe the Ritz Carlton is not a good fit! See my old post about choosing your wedding day look and vision. [...]
