How to Re-Use Your Wedding Ceremony Flowers

When you want to maximize your floral budget, opt to re-use your ceremony décor so that it pulls double duty at your reception. Below are just a few examples of how this can be done beautifully! When you work with your florist, discuss this in advance so he/she can plan out your centerpieces and decor with this in mind.

Here, the tall centerpieces were used to flank the aisle and create some extra drama to the ceremony decor.

Even low centerpieces can be used to line your ceremony aisle! Using these tall, stemmed candle holders offer height along the aisle… but aren’t so intrusive that they’ll get in the way of dinner conversation. TIP: Just be sure to have your florist ribbon off the center aisle and also along the rows of chairs so that guests don’t accidentally step into the aisle and knock the delicate stemmed candle holders over!!

A more modern look is created by placing your centerpieces on clear acrylic pedestals to line the aisle. The centerpieces almost look as if they are floating!

Here, purple hydrangeas are moved from petite vases on the ceremony chairs and to the soon-to-be sweets table at the reception. Remember that flowers can also be transplanted from one type of container to another container for a different look.

Of course, you’ll need to work out the logistics with your wedding coordinator and florist! There needs to be a clear plan so that the switch from ceremony to reception is seamless. Have fun repurposing your beautiful ceremony florals!
