A month before their June wedding, Louis and Kara realized they needed a bit more help tying up some loose ends, and so they enlisted my help to pull together their natural and romantic wedding at the Chicago Botanic Gardens. Despite the distance from the city, the CBG is one of my favorite venues! It is so gorgeous on its own, it hardly needs much decoration. Florist Alex with Exquisite Designs kept the centerpieces relaxed and natural in shades of cornflower blue, white, and green.
One of my very favorite elements of their wedding was Kara wedding gown and her bridesmaids dresses… Kara’s mom made all of them by hand! They were simple, elegant, beautifully tailored, and fit each lady to a T. So unique and special, and made with love.
Photographers Life on Prints candidly captured their day and shared these beautiful photos with us.
Kara’s wedding gown, created by her mom!
I absolutely love ceremonies in the English Walled Garden! You could not dream up a more romantic setting!
They also did a traditional hand-fasting ceremony.
A lovely shot of Kara and her bridesmaids, and you can see all the lovely custom-made dresses!
Onto the reception in McGinley Pavilion.
Beautiful, rustic centerpieces with blue and white hydrangea, white lisianthus, blue delphiniums and accents of greenery in silver mint julep cups, and surrounded by floating candles and silver mercury glass votives.
